A simple, online assessment tool for startups and small businesses

What is it?

SME Diagnostic is an online assessment tool for startups and small businesses. It is designed to help business owners assess the different areas of their business in order to understand what is working well and which areas need attention in order to grow.

The tool is divided into 10 different areas of assessment, based on the Business Model Canvas*, and each section is, in turn, separated into sub-sections. This useful tool helps you to examine each area of your business in an integrated way.

At the end of the assessment, you will receive a report that gives you a rating for each area of your business and its sub-categories as well as providing useful tips to highlight key areas that you need to focus your attention on. The 10 areas assessed are:

Why use it?

• SME Diagnostic treats each company as a separate entity - so if you own more than one company, you will need to register each business separately and take the assessment.
• To start, click on one of the sections listed below.
• A series of questions will be displayed.
• Be honest. This isn't a competition, rather it is a great way to analyse your business.
• Once all questions have been answered, you’ll be shown a graph of your ratings in each sub-category.
• View the report for more details and useful tips that you can implement in your business.
